Nitish Reddy has been ruled out of India’s squad for the ongoing T20I series against England, as announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Saturday. The all-rounder suffered a side strain during a practice session in Chennai on Friday and will be heading to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further treatment.

In another update, Rinku Singh, who experienced a lower back spasm while fielding in the first T20I, has also been ruled out of the second and third matches in the five-match series. The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his recovery, while the selectors have brought in all-rounders Shivam Dube and Ramandeep Singh to the squad for the remaining matches.

Ramandeep was part of India’s T20I squad for their recent tour in South Africa, but Dube hasn’t played for the national team since August 2024. He missed the home series against Bangladesh due to a back injury but has since recovered and participated in domestic cricket for Mumbai. Currently, India leads the T20I series 1-0.

India’s updated squad for the T20I series includes: Suryakumar Yadav (C), Axar Patel (VC), Sanju Samson (WK), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, Varun Chakaravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Shivam Dube, and Ramandeep Singh.
